Job Description

Summary We want you to join our great team as an Experience & Visitor Programming Manager (Maternity Cover).This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactlyhow long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than.Nestled in a river valley on the edge of the urban landscape of Manchester, this post is an exciting opportunity to lead for the visitor experience and programming opportunities at one of the National Trust’s most visited places. From the family offer duringschool holidays, to detailed and specialist programming focused on how we look after collections, grade listed buildings and landscapes, this is a truly wonderful opportunity to connect people to Quarry Bank.If you have any questions about this role please contact: .ukHours: Full time 37.5 hours per week. The role requires flexible working, including weekends and the occasional evening. Youll be part of the property duty management team, with set duty days every Thursday and every 5th weekend. We’re a dynamic and friendly group of 115 full and part time staff and nearly 500 volunteers working together to share the unique and varied stories of our special place.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing A key member of the property leadership team, the Experience & Visitor Programming Manager is a senior leader at the property and will work closely with peers, colleagues and volunteers to make it truly feel like a place with something for everyone.Youll be leading the delivery and evaluation of the programme in 2024, whilst working in a collaborative way to form the plan for 2025.Youll line manage and coach a motivated and passionate team of 20 staff and volunteers to co-create a fantastic experience for all visitors.   • Have a natural curiosity and willingness approach
  • Have a flexible approach and be a great teammate, be able to lead on and work with other peoples agendas towards a common purpose
  • Understanding of what good programming looks like for different audiences
  • Practical and successful experience of developing and implementing new events
  • Have excellent customer services and communication skills
  • Be well organised and diligent to detail
  • Knowledge and experience of budget management
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
