A Middlesbrough based Business Integration company who have become a nationwide market leader of IP Converged Technologies for IT Infrastructure, Fire & Security, Smart Buildings and Support requirements, are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team.As well as a competitive salary you will receive a Company Car (or generous car allowance), on call payments, pension plan including life insurance (5x salary) and 29 days holiday allowance.As a Senior Systems Engineer you will:- Install, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade all hardware and equipment (including but not limited to Servers, PC, Active Equipment, printers and other peripherals) to ensure optimal performance.- Be responsible for troubleshooting problem areas, either in person, by telephone, or via remote access in a timely manner and provide end-user assistance where required.- Ensure that the security and integrity of data held within the network is maintained to a high standard and that Anti-Virus and WSUS services are maintained.- Create and maintain system documentation for all internal hardware and software including Local Area Network Topology inc WLAN, servers, desktops, licence agreements, Internal User Profiles, Anti-Virus, Passwords etc.- Diagnose and quickly resolve a wide range of Windows applications and networking problems to help minimize downtime.- Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Windows and Microsoft Office and any other authorised desktop applications.- Provide technical support in Initial meetings with the client / consultant and contractors to discuss the needs and requirements in order to agree and capture these requirements and translate into a technical solution.- Assist in the creation of a professional quotation / proposal for projects.We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with:- Significant experience of working in a PC / Helpdesk support role with a sound knowledge of common PC applications and the ability to assist and explain technical processes in a non-technical way.- Excellent knowledge of supporting Microsoft Windows Desktop, Microsoft Office products.- Significant experience of: Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Group Policy Administration using Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019.- Experience of supporting and troubleshooting hardware / software problems with PCs, Laptops, Tablets etc.- Good working knowledge of good working knowledge of Networking, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLAN, network cabling e.g. Fibre and CAT5E/6 and working with Switches, Firewalls, Routers and Wireless Networks 802.11x, Hyper-V & RDS and supporting VoIP & Mobile telephony systems.The role will involve providing support out of normal office hours (evenings and weekends) and will therefore include a paid on-call rota to provide cover during these periods.
