Job Description

Job purpose:The Production Technician will form part of the Production Team and will report to the Production Manager. This role deals with small-batch complex builds that are often bespoke, requiring someone capable of building units from engineering drawings to industrystandards using build instructions based on strong knowledge and experience. The job role will involve the assembly, setup, service and testing of life saving electronics-based sensing equipment for use in a variety of markets, including Defense, Hospitality/Beverages,Education and Laboratories. Given the criticality of the equipment, exceptional product quality and high levels of customer service are absolutely crucial. There will be a degree of customer facing tasks around Factory Acceptance Testing and equipment Install/Servicingat customer premises.Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Assembly of products in line with product standard operating procedures. Key skills for this will include:
    1. Soldering
    2. Gas use and management
    3. Small hand tools
    4. Glue/varnishing
    5. Mechanical assembly
    6. Wire loom creation
  2. Inter-departmental working to ensure the customer receives a very high level of customer service.
  3. Proactively managing your workload to meet or exceed deadlines.
  4. Ensure that the quality of the work you undertake is of the highest standard and in line with company and customer requirements - communicating quality issues promptly.
  5. Able to work under pressure.
  6. Must be able to work to verbal and written instructions.
  7. Excellent attention to detail.
  8. Ability to work alone or as part of a team - self motivation is essential.
  9. Ensure records are maintained as required and to a high standard.
Qualifications and Training
  • HNC in Electronics/Electrical or equivalent experience
Experience
  • 3 years minimum in a similar role
