Job Description

Brief Description of Role (i.e. purpose of role)Contribute to the frictionless movement of customer orders that are subject to customs processes within Europe by taking ownership of the status of customs formalities within a nominated region(s).Key Activities & ResponsibilitiesKey Activity 1 - Health And SafetyResponsible for ones own, co-workers and stakeholders health and safety.Key Activity 2 - Service DeliveryFacilitate the frictionless movement of customer orders that are subject to customs processes within Europe. Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of customer service levels and mitigation of wasted costs by managing daily customs operational processesinternally and externally.Achieve this by requesting / gathering / recording / sharing customs documentation and related information between internal teams, customers, suppliers and external customs-related platforms within pre-determined time-frames.Ensure internal teams and external customers are informed of any impact or changes to their orders as soon as possible and in the case of delays.Key Activity 3 - Improvement PlanningHelp the TL design, review and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with service-delivery expectations, ensuring all functions and tasks are known, recorded, and covered competently by the team. Target full and documented training for allteam membersSelection Criteria *Essential/DesirableQualifications, Skills and KnowledgeE/D*Excellent communication with both customers and colleagues and the ability to develop relationships both internally and externally.DCompetent in the use of I.T. system, outlook, excel etc.ESome geographical knowledgeDReasonable level of mathematics and ability to perform basic calculationsEExperiencePrevious roles in customer service or within logistics industryEExperience of advising and recharge costsDHistory of growing and developing relationships with customersDCompetenciesAn ability to work well under pressureDCommunicate with various departments to achieve common goalsDPersonal Attributes & other requirementsAble to withstand high pressure situationsDWilling to travel and on occasion, work unsociable hoursEBudgetary Responsibilities0 directly, but with a clear understanding that the customs operations function is a cost-centre which has the potential to reduce profits if not managed correctly.KPIsAchieve service delivery and cost-mitigation targetsDeliver outstanding levels of customer serviceDevelop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Typical Problem Areas Faced in RoleOperational issuesChanges / demands / failures by customers / suppliers / other stakeholders outside of direct control.Limitations of 3rd party customs brokerage suppliers (directly and via customers)Communication breakdownsProblem solving of exceptional situations with internal and external stakeholders.BenefitsHolidays - 20 days (1 extra day per year upto 25 days max)Company pensionCycle to Work SchemeCasual DressOn-Site ParkingDuvet Day (after probation)
