Job Description

Overview:An opportunity to gain practical experience and training within a retailer branded NPD function in the bakery sector. Working with account facing teams, you will gain experience in understanding the requirements of major multiple retailers through the design, development and launch phases of NPD.Opportunity of being offered permanent role on successful completion of the InternshipPurpose of the Role: The purpose of the role is to support the Technologists, Lead Technologists and NPD Managers in delivering projects.Working with the NPD Manager and NPD team this role will:

  • Assist NPD Technologists with sample preparation for customer submissions and tastings Support with getting ingredients and packaging from the factory and pallet deliveries from our factory in Poland
  • Assistance with the collation of samples for reviews
  • To keep all areas of work clean and support in the upkeep of the kitchen
  • Support internal meetings as required
  • Ensure the PLM process is followed
  • Monitor shelf life through organoleptic testing of products
  • Organise microbiological and analytical testing for products
  • Conduct various required tests to ensure products have the desired technical attributes (e.g. viscosity, pH, Aw, etc).
  • Support with sample shopping & benchmarking
  • Assist with loading recipes onto our Recipe Professor system
  • Assist with retailer sample submissions
  • Assist with costings
  • Support in Feasibility meetings
  • Support on factory trials and trial meetings
  • Engage and work collaboratively with the cross functional teams such as Procurement
    • Performance Measures
  • Planning and organising work to hit internal and external deadlines
  • Clear verbal and written communication including record keeping and reports
  • Adhering to policies and procedures to ensure work is conducted accurately and to customer and company policy
    • Knowledge, skills & ExperienceEssential:
  • Degree in a food related discipline
  • Communication Skills - excellent written and verbal
  • IT skills in Microsoft Office
  • Positive, can-do attitude, willing to get stuck in and learn
