Job Description

RSR Police is a market leading recruitment business dedicated to supplying experienced practitioners on a temporary, contractual or permanent basis to the Law Enforcement, Cyber Security, Offender Management and Regulatory Services talent markets.RSR Police are currently recruiting for an Intelligence and Performance Researcher to work on a temporary basis for up to 6 months.Based in Coventry, as a Researcher, you will be responsible for the provision of the intelligence research function relating to motor finance fraud, plant and agricultural theft, freight crime and caravan security business areas.The rate of pay offered is £12.04 to £13.16 per hour depending on experience.Main duties and responsibilities

  • To research crime reports, processed data, intelligence and information to identify patterns, risks, opportunities and intelligence gaps as directed by relevant business area
  • To ensure that research supports operational needs with an approach that is structured and methodical
  • To support ongoing or long-term analytical products with timely, accurate and systematic research of intelligence, data and open source
  • To maintain, update and retrieve performance data and make it available to relevant personnel by use of information communications systems
  • To provide interpretation of data acting as point of reference for questions relating to performance information
  • To maintain appropriate IT record keeping systems, and identify and account for issues surrounding data quality
  • To carry out quality audits on issues as raised by local management
  • To establish a terms of reference in consultation with the customer and the analyst team for all tasked pieces of research
  • To ensure that intelligence is obtained ethically and in accordance with all relevant legislation, policy and codes of practice
  • Maintain personal responsibility for collection, recording, evaluation, information sharing, review, retention and disposal of information in compliance with codes of practice and Guidance in the Management of Information, Information Security Policy, procedures and legislation.

  • Proven IT skills, using Windows-based packages, in particular Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in handling quantitative and qualitative data
  • The proven ability to combine information from multiple sources / systems, maintain databases or similar systems and summarise information
  • Experience of working in a research role within an intelligence environment
