Summary Are you a proven manager of collections or houses Can you bring your conservation knowledge to this close knit team We need someone who can champion fantastic collections care and practise, visitor welcome and the day to day operation of managing volunteersto give great experiences.This is a fixed term opportunity is for an annualised 1508 hours, running until the end of February 2024.This works out at 29 hours per week for 52 weeks. It was home to the Hesketh family for over five centuries and the diminutive size of the property still gives it a lovely, homely feel today. Althoughthe Hesketh family no longer reside at Rufford Old Hall, there is a still a close family here made up of our National Trust staff and volunteer family who work together to care for this beautiful house and grounds. What youll be doing As the senior lead of the House Team, youll manage a team of Collections & House Officers, Collections Assistants and volunteers to implement preventive conservation and cleaning programmes in the house to ensure excellent standards of care, deliveringstrategies to improve conservation. Youll be responsible for the planning and implementation of conservation projects, collections care and daily opening of the house ensuring appropriate resources are in place to provide a consistent and excellent visitorexperience.Youll collect and accurately record information to inform our understanding of the house and the collection and use preventive conservation techniques to improve how we conserve, interpret and present the property. Leading by example youll ensure a cultureof excellent customer care, engaging our visitors with conservation and the values and behaviours of the National Trust.Youll be head of department for the house and work closely with other heads of department.
