Job Description

Mechanical ManagerROCKWOOL UK are looking for a Mechanical Manager to join their busy Maintenance team, which is an integral part of the wider Operations team.Job Purpose & Scope Direct reporting to the Factory maintenance manager. Mechanical manager is responsible for the management of the mechanical department of the RW-WER factory and development of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies in the department. The mechanicalmanager will oversee and ensure maintenance achieves the optimum and efficiency of the production processes - ensure the development of the department so that employees carry out technically correct and economically viable repairs to maintain the continuousoperation of the equipmentKey Result Areas

  • Health and safety
  • Developing staff /succession planning
  • Development of preventive/predictive services, by reducing corrective maintenance
  • Maintaining optimal costs for plant maintenance and repair
  • Decreasing of downtime
  • Effective relationships with all key stakeholders (include customers internal/external).
Key Responsibilities & Job ContentHealth and safety
  • Ensure safe working conditions and safety protection for subordinate employees
  • Inform employees about changes in working conditions, newly introduced rules and other regulatory documents, corporate standards
  • ontrol and ensure that employees comply with technological, production discipline, rules and regulations of safety, cleanliness and order at workplaces (HOKE, 6S)
  • Monitor the observance of health and safety rules by employees of the companys divisions and contractors performing work on production areas, and in order to prevent injuries and optimize the work process, immediately inform the manager of all noticedviolations
  • Immediately notify your immediate or superior manager about any situation that threatens the life and health of people, about every accident that occurs at work, or about a deterioration in your health
  • Do not allow the operation of equipment without fencing hazardous areas, the necessary blocking (LOTO) and safety devices
  • Correctly use personal and collective protective equipment
  • Analyse the causes of potential hazards, develop corrective actions and eliminate comments as part of their responsibility
  • Develop risk assessments in all aspects of mechanical activities
  • Machine safety ( to UK government and HSE standards)
  • Contractor RAMS to be reviewed and approved prior to work commencing, including permit to works and other associated Permits.
  • RockSHE actions, Good catches and also Accident investigations
Developing staff /succession planning
  • Participate in the assessment of candidates for positions within the department and recommend the selected candidate for recruitment
  • Develop job descriptions for employees of subordinate areas
  • Control the timeliness and correctness of keeping records in the WD by the employees of your department
  • Develop and implement activities to involve personnel in the process of achieving a common result and fulfilling the general tasks set by the management of the Rockwool company, developing an understanding of the mission and strategy of the company, aswell as the companys values and compliance with them in daily activities.
  • To develop and motivate your employees professionally and personally - to draw up matrices of current development, IDP for the development of skills. Identify a successor and engage in his systematic development
  • Ensuring employees are trained to keep them up to date with the most current version of technology
  • Workday, daily authorisation of T+A, planning the holidays for department employees
Development and achieving of MAI KPI:
  • Provide technically correct and economically feasible repairs to maintain the equipments continued operability
  • Organize overhaul maintenance, repair and modernization of equipment, ensure the rational use of materials at the same time;
  • Takes part in the study of the causes of premature wear or failure of equipment, downtime, accidents and production of substandard products;
  • Analyses the operating conditions of the equipment in order to reduce the likelihood of equipment failures;
  • Inform the Factory Maintenance manager about the results of the mechanical service of the enterprise
  • Creating of MAI budget of mechanical department and data correction during the current period (TYCE);
  • Prepare the KPI report in area of responsibility. Create a plan for development of main figures;
  • Fulfil the duties of an absent superior manager
  • Planning department activities in SAP PM, development of the reporting in SAP PM, also development of the MAI plan and task list functionality, to increase preventive maintenance in department
This is what you offer
  • Bachelors degree/ HND, HNC
  • 3-5 years previous experience in Mechanical maintenance engineering
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of SAP MM, PM
  • Written and spoken English Language to a high professional business level
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage several works streams with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to manage a team of skilled personnel
