  • To provide Customs expertise and guidance to deliver the sourcing plan and ensure the business is constantly compliant with all HMRC processes and any changes to legislation are implemented throughout the business.
  • To negotiate and manage the contracts, performance and relationships with 3rd party logistics providers and shipping freight partners
  • Support the wider business by driving compliance, best practice and necessary regulatory changes.
  • ** Lead and develop the Imports Team through effective coaching and development **Key Skills and Responsibilities - CHIEF
  • Import/Export Declarations - SAD and CFSP
  • Customs Valuation of Goods
  • Customs Warehouse declarations, EIDR and SDW
  • Customs procedure codes and relevant authorisations specifically CFSP
  • Tariff classifications, duty rates, licences and quotas
  • Origin and Preference
  • Incoterms and changes under Incoterms 2020, ensuring correct terms are used
  • Letters of Credit
  • Inward Processing relief
  • IP authorisations and throughput period reporting and monitoring
  • Customs warehouse regulations
  • Importing into TS via C21 and also NCTS and authorised consignee route into ETSF Familiarity with CSP, specifically Destin8
  • Changes to TS under Home Office authority
  • ·Impact of UCC on Import and Export
  • ·Customs Audits ensuring a high standard of compliance
    1. EU trade now and after Brexit
    2. Declaration changes under CDS
    3. Trade with the USA
    4. VAT and International trade
    5. International Trade Compliance
    6. Working with Border Force re ETSF
    7. Working with HMRC on CW and IP
    8. Working to SOP’s to ensure compliance to all regulations
    9. Working with SMT to ensure cost effective workable authorisation structure
    10. Identifying and implementing process efficiencies, where necessary through authorisation amendments.
    Fright & International Logistics
  • Negotiate rates for container shipping, haulage and air freight to deliver best possible cost and service.
  • Review and manage performance of shipping
  • With business stakeholders, develop plans that will deliver cost and service benefits to the business
  • YOU MUST HAVE:
  • A comprehensive knowledge of submitting imports/exports documentation to HMRC
  • Driving licence
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills - ideally advanced user
