Job Description

We have an exciting position available for a Head of Manufacturing and Operations to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Radcliffe, Manchester. This position will be overseeing two sites, those being Manchester and Buckingham. The Head of Manufacturing & Operations is accountable for executing our clients vision by providing overall leadership to the production, warehouse and planning teams to ensure on time manufacture and delivery of product to correct specificationsand world class, efficient and effective factory operations. The role focuses on contributing to the commercial performance by ensuring products and services meet explicit and implicit requirements and specifications, including quality standards. The roleis responsible for and takes leadership in monitoring overall team performance and reporting on this against set KPIs.You will oversee Manufacturing Management, Strategy, Leadership, Performance Management, HR, Continuous Improvement and Health and SafetyKey duties and responsibilities....

  • Lead the performance of the manufacturing and warehouse functions of the business
  • Create and define the manufacturing strategy, goals and policies for now and the future to further improve the business
  • Responsible for providing leadership to build performance and capacity towards a world class manufacturing business
  • Responsible for managing the performance of the production, warehouse, and planning teams
  • Overseeing HR practices to drive team performance within the department
  • Responsible for utilising LEAN methodologies to drive continuous performance and quality within production and warehousing
  • Leading, demonstrating and adhering to relevant HSE systems
  • Utilise internal and external networks to benefit the organisation and its growth aspirations
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar manufacturing management or relatable position
  • Previous experience with LEAN principles
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of Computer systems such as Microsoft Office and ERP software to an advanced standard, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 preferable
  • Knowledge of Automated manufacturing and Health and Safety regulations
  • Leadership and coaching skills
  • Highly organised and coordinated
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Time management to an advanced standard
  • Planning and organisation skills
  • Verbal and written communication in English to an advanced standard
  • Filtering information to clearly evaluate a situation
  • Engineering and production machinery experience
  • Future manufacturing design skills
  • The ability to demonstrate a track record of manufacturing successes and excellence
  • Act with a result driven approach
