Summary Do you have a passion for historic houses and how the collections are shared with visitorsWere looking for a Senior Collections and House Officer to join us at Kedleston Hall to support the Collections and House Manager in providing inspiring visitor experiences and delivering high collections care standards.What its like to work here Kedleston Hall is a neo-classical show-palace that also houses a significant Asian collection of over 1,000 objects in a dedicated museum. Welcoming over 200,000 visitors a year we aim to create wonder by celebrating art and design, from exploring the artand culture of our unique collection of objects from across the Asian Continent to unpacking how 18th-century design has impacted our world today.Exciting times lie ahead as we open our doors to a growing number of visitors and establish a long-term plan for the development of our visitor offer.As a team we are committed to co-creation, exploring full histories and working to ensure representationin our work and decision-making process. What youll be doing Managed by the Collections and House Manager, youll work alongside two Collections and House Officers and manage a small team of Collections Assistants and the Hall Volunteers. Youll be leading with preventive conservation and collection care work forthe team, ensuring the day-to-day Hall operations are achieved and that the team work efficiently and safely. Youll contribute to budget spends and make sure resources are used carefully.Youll support with the collections-focussed programming, working collaboratively and contributing ideas on how to engage visitors with collections care. Youll lead with planning and delivering engaging Conservation in Action to enrich the visitor experience,both on site and externally.This is an operational role based at Kedleston Hall and working across 7-days and doing 1 in 3 weekends as part of the House Duty rota.
