Job Description

This UK wide group of SEN schools is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.They are currently looking for an HR Administrator to join a dynamic team at their school in Bristol.This School supports children and young people aged 7-19 years old with communication and associated difficulties, typically as a result of autism or Aspergers Syndrome. These difficulties can impact on their emotional wellbeing and behaviour and createbarriers to learning. There is a residential Care Home for 8 young adults attached.The teams across both sites contribute to a positive, vibrant and collaborative learning and caring community where every student and resident is given the care, support and levels of challenge needed to develop not just their academic abilities, but alsotheir self-confidence, life skills and independence.The passionate and committed teams at are looking for like-minded people to join them in supporting children and young people to have the best opportunities to succeed in life.The main purpose of the role:Working 24 hours a weekThis post holder will work alongside the existing HR Administrator and will have shared responsibility for the efficient management of all HR administrative processes relating to the entire employee lifecycle in line with company, regulatory and legal requirements.The post holder will undertake a full range of administrative tasks as well as communication (verbal and in written) with candidates, employees, management and external bodies ensuring data protection, confidentiality and the reputation of This Group are maintainedKey duties:

  • Maintain a robust recruitment process, including pre-interview checks, in line with safer recruitment requirements and company policies and procedures, liaising with the Central recruitment team and recruiting manager, to ensure a positive candidate experienceand robust outcome.
  • Liaise with central recruitment to ensure job vacancies are posted in line with company agreements and budgets.
  • Work closely with the central recruitment teams supporting the recruitment and onboarding process to include responses to adverts, scheduling of interviews, timely progression of applications, document administration at interview and confirming offer detailsagreed by local management.
  • Support the management of the onboarding process in line with our Groups Recruitment and Onboarding Guide, to ensure the timely completion of all pre- employment checks e.g. DBS checks, references, pre-employment health checks etc.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Business Manager and external suppliers to secure temporary agency cover as required. This to include ensuring all relevant vetting checks have been completed and to validate DBS and identity documentation whenonsite
  • Ensure all processes linked to accurate employee payments, deductions and benefits are followed and completed on time, liaising with payroll and the accounts team and central HR as necessary and appropriate.
  • Check the accuracy of and keep well maintained and up to date personnel files and other employee and worker records, including HR database, tables and lists.
  • Maintain complete and compliant training records in preparation for internal or eternal inspections e.g. Ofsted/CQC
Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.Skills and QualificationsSuccessful candidate qualities:Experience
  • Experience working in a professional generalist HR Administrator role, ideally in a school college or care environment.
  • Highly literate and numerate with a high level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word, Outlook and interest in and ability to learn other databases.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly confidential.
  • Able to work autonomously and on own initiative, with ability to manage own time and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Competent and accurate note taking.
  • Highly organised and able to organise events etc.
  • High levels of interpersonal skill with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and ensure the delivery of an efficient and personable service.
  • Confidence to challenge others or report a potential compliance or safeguarding contravention.
