Job Description

Just Life Sciences are seeking an experienced HPAPI Scientist to join an award winning Pharma business, being part of a newly created team you will beQualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Leading the development, installation, and operation of highly potent chemistry 0.1-1 mg/m3 capability Strategic input into the area of expertise Establishing, maintaining and improving our highly potent containment strategy Ensuring all aspects of the highly potent workflow are considered from ordering and raw material storage, through synthesis and analytical measurement, including waste management and incident response. Growing workflows, procedures, and SOPs and working with the team to train validate and audit to ensure safe working Leading by example to maintain and improve safe and compliant operations following HSSEQ requirements Mentoring and coaching others in the area of the highly potent pharmaceutical development Carrying out multi-step synthesis, isolation, purification, and characterization of small organic compounds Designing efficient routes to target molecules of a wide range of complexity by applying modern synthetic methods Performing scale-up of key intermediates and compounds.
  • Requirements for Lead Scientist - High Potency Experience in process chemistry Good understanding/ interest in risk and mitigation strategies Ability to drive multifaceted projects to completion Ability to conduct lab work with expert ability according to the organisational technical standards and GLP Awareness of and communicates key technical challenges and opportunities in the development of highly potent materials Previous experience of working in Isolators or working in a regulated environment (e.g. GMP) is desirable but not essential Previous experience in high-containment manufacturing would be beneficial but is not essential
