Job Description

Summary Are you passionate about working with volunteers and engaging with local communities We are looking for a Volunteering & Community Officer to join our team here at Ormesby Hall. We are looking for an organised individual who will support our volunteer teamto provide an excellent service to the public. Youll also be enthusiastic about maintaining and building relationships with our local community.Hours: 30 hours per week across 4 days including weekends and duty manager responsibilitiesSalary: FTE £22,152paContract: PermanentInterviews: 26th July, we can accommodate remote interviews for those who live outside of the area but would like to applyIf you have any questions about this role please contact: .uk What its like to work here Reporting to the Property Operations Manager, youll work as part of a passionate property team which is made up of 20 staff and a large dedicated team of 160 volunteers. Youll be based at Ormesby Hall, a classic Georgian mansion surrounded by a colourfulVictorian garden and 240 acres of park and farmland in the heart of Middlesbrough. Set within the wider North Yorkshire and Tees Valley Portfolio, its a very diverse place to work. What youll be doing Youll be responsible for the day to day organisation and support of our passionate volunteer team providing skills and training opportunities, as well as looking at ways to expand our team. Youll administer and support our existing community partnershipsand working with colleagues within the portfolio and wider trust, look to create new relationships that strengthen the position of Ormesby Hall within Teesside. Who were looking for Ideally youll have:

  • a sound understanding of volunteering and be enthusiastic about promoting the benefits of great volunteer involvement and opportunities
  • enthusiasm and passion about working with volunteers and understand the differences between staff and volunteers, particularly the legal frameworks
  • excellent customer services and communication skills
  • a flexible approach and be a great team player, be able to lead on and work with other peoples agendas towards a common purpose
  • a sound working knowledge of volunteering principles and practice
  • IT skills
  • some knowledge and experience of budget management.
