Job Description

Summary Were looking for someone to join our team at Ormesby Hall who has experience in community engagement, the supporting of participatory processes and volunteer management. If youre a people person whod like to help us take volunteering our work with communitiesto the next level and make a real difference to the way we develop our relationships with local communities and partners, wed love to hear from you.Youll join us on a permanent part time contract, 30 hours per week. Reporting into the Property Operations Manager andworking closely with colleagues across the portfolio, youll be supporting our ambitions to diversify our volunteering base and deepen our community engagement work. You will have a key part to play in bringing together the shared ambitions of our team and the local communities we connect with.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Youll lead for volunteering and community engagement on site. We have over 150 existing volunteers regularly working with us on site, in a wide range of roles. Youll spend time with volunteers to get to know what matters to them, whilst helping to buildthe confidence and capability of our volunteer managers as they lead and support their teams.Youll spend time beyond our boundaries to connect with a wide range of people and organisations, reaching into the local community and building relationships across communities that are both new and known to us. Working with these contacts, youll developexciting and meaningful participation and volunteering experiences that build on the strengths and priorities of local communities. You will also work to increase the confidence and capability of others to work with communities grounded in principles of respectand equity, whilst creating a collective, flexible and inclusive environment for all.Youll be instrumental in helping us in the development of a new community and volunteering plan for the property that is dynamic, relevant and mutually beneficial.Youll be a champion for Everyone Welcome, the National Trusts strategic objective to ensureeveryone feels welcome at our properties and places by 2030, creating opportunities that are both attractive and accessible.Youll be required to work as the Duty Manager rota from time to time on a rota basis. There will be occasional evening and weekend working. Who were looking for

  • Understanding and good practice of volunteer management.
  • Understanding of good practice in community engagement and involvement, as well as broader participation and partnership working.
  • Practical and successful experience of developing and implementing new products and approaches to volunteers.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to coach and support those managing, supervising and working alongside volunteers and community partners.
  • Strong communication skills.
