£25,000 per annum plus benefitsLocation - Old Trafford / ManchesterPERMANENT ROLE SPECIFICATIONTechnical Support AnalystCOMPANY PROFILEThe business structure is traditional retail distribution with a hub-and-spoke structure where larger units provide stock distribution and centralised services to satellite branches. The customer profile is orientated toward professional and industry servicehirers and other larger account customers.IT SERVICE OVERVIEWThe IT Services arm of our IT department in which this role sits looks after the boxes and wires, all of which are hosted internally split between our Heathrow and Manchester offices. Our WAN is provisioned and managed by Vodafone. The only other managedservice we have is for IT security.PERMANENT ROLE SPECIFICATIONTechnical Support Analyst (Oakland House, Manchester)SCOPE OF ROLE

  • To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems and across a range of software applications.
  • To assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon.
  • To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary.
  • To accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.
  • To install and configure new IT equipment.
  • To resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware
  • To resolve incidents with PCs, Servers, printers, copiers, and scanners
  • To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
  • Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organisation.
  • Perform user administration duties
  • To assist in the delivery of network infrastructure support
  • To assist in the daily backup schedule
  • To assist in the daily shifted working pattern (7:00am to 7:00pm)
  • To assist in delivering Out of Hours Cover
CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTESA candidate for this role will have many of the following attributes: -
  • Good working knowledge of managed network switches
  • A broad understanding of PCs and Servers
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skill, happy to roll-up sleeves and lead from the fore
  • Ability to prioritise work load and coordinate multiple projects
