Job Description

My client at Marine Management Organisation, is looking for a Legal Administrate Officer to join their amazing team as soon as possible. If you feel you have the right experience and skills to join the team, then look no further!Location: Newcastle (Lancaster House - NE3) - Hybrid - 2 Day Working from Office / 3 Days WFHRate of Pay: £13.37 (Weekly Pay)Hours: Full time - 9am to 5pmStart Date: ASAPContract: 6 Months initially with the possibility of extension.Main Duties and Accountabilitys:

  • Maintaining and managing the lawyers diaries of meetings and commitments
  • Monitoring, managing and prioritising the shared mailbox
  • Lead contact for enquiries regarding new or ongoing work
  • Maintaining the case management system ensuring all information is up to date and all actions and KPIs are monitored and recorded
  • Interaction with both internal and external stakeholders to include courts and legal counsel in a professional and organised manner on a routine basis
  • Submission of court documentation and liaison in the first instance with courts and defence solicitors around the country as regards the service of case papers
  • Lead in respect arrangements concerning court hearings, travel and accommodation
Essential knowledge and skills required:
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and an ability to prioritise workload to accommodate challenging deadlines and events that impact the team on a daily basis.
  • Experience in legal administration or proven transferable administration skills
  • Ability to support client confidentiality and maintain a high level of discretion on matters of organisational and political sensitivity
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work as a team and with others in a cooperative and supportive manner
  • Experience of using interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships with stakeholders and partners
  • The ability to work to urgent deadlines and targets and willingness to work flexibly to ensure deadlines are met
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office software packages
Desirable skills and knowledge:
  • Adapt different working styles to support each member of the team
  • Have a working knowledge of enforcement files and their contents
  • Experience providing administrative support in relation to criminal prosecutions and public law challenges
  • Knowledge of government and legislative processes
