Job Description

The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity for a compliance focused information security professional, to undertake a new role for this national business. Though their Head Office is in Newcastle, the role can be undertaken remotely with only occasional trips to the office.The RoleYou will act as an independent control function overseeing risk and monitoring the first-line-of-defence control framework, providing challenge on the effectiveness of the controls and application of policies to manage risk across the business. Advising bothIT departments business leads and participates in multiple Risk and Information Security Steering Groups, you will support the delivery of an effective information security and governance framework, as part of the Risk and Compliance function. Specificallyyou will:

  • Support the development, production and management of an Information Security and Data Protection Risk framework
  • Increase awareness of Information Security and Data Privacy throughout the business, assisting the business to achieve agreed compliance targets
  • Provide targeted assurance reviews to assess the suitability of the control framework operating within the first-line-of-defence
  • Aid with the creation, distribution and compliance of business Information Security and Data Privacy policies.
The RequirementsWith proven information security experience gained across Governance, Risk and Compliance, you will be well versed in security policies, standards and security / data privacy / risk frameworks. With strong assurance experience, you will be familiar withindustrybest practices (such as OWASP and NCSC Guidance). With the ability to analyse current business practices and identify areas of risk or improvement, you will possess excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills and be commercially aware.You will need to able achieve an enhanced level of security vetting and screening.
