Job Description

LDC is part of the MBP Group, the UK’s leading independent stockist of doors from all major suppliers, and a market leading manufacturer of standard and bespoke fire doors, doorsets and glazed screens. Based in Micklefield and with several locations throughout the UK, our distribution network has all door, glazing and joinery needs covered.At Leeds Doors and Cubicles, we are now seeking a confident individual to join the team as Doorset Estimator, to receive and interpret architectural drawings in terms of supplying standard or bespoke doors and/or doorsets to the industry. Also, transfer information from the drawings into Excel spreadsheets, providing comprehensive pricing structures and delivery schedules to both internal and external customers.Following initial phone interviews, interviews will be held on site, with a view to start the role as soon as possible.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • Create schedules from various architectural drawings
  • Prove pricing schedules
  • Check detail against fire/acoustic test evidence, structural opening sizes, etc.
  • Liaise with customers in an efficient and professional manor
  • Chase work internally with the group
  • Create specifications for products
  • General administration and updating electronic and paper based files
  • ….and any other duties required to support the achievement of the Company’s objectivesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • A minimum of 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Maths and English
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferable
  • Experience working with architectural drawings is desirable

  • ADDITIONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of managing large workloads to meet strict deadlines
  • The ideal individual for this position would ideally come from a timber or joinery background, with experience in estimating. However, training can be provided for the right candidate. Salary is dependant on experience.This is a full time, permanent position for 40 hours per week Monday - Friday.
