Job Description

Logistics & Shipping Manager £40,000 - £45,000 Mayfair My client is one of the most renown private jewellery houses in the world.The Logistics and Shipping Manager will play a crucial role in managing the end-to-end logistics of their valuable jewellery shipments, ensuring seamless movement across international borders.The successful candidate will have expertise in import and export regulations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This is a rare opportunity as the business seldom recruits (average turnover of staff is 10 years+)Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the entire import and export process for jewellery shipments.
  • Prepare and review shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, carnets. etc.
  • Stay updated on changes in import/export regulations.
  • Packing & unpacking jewellery ensuring all jewellery is safe for transit and presentable for clients.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs documentation.
  • Work closely with carriers, freight forwarders, and shipping agents to schedule and monitor shipments, including the use of Boxtrax, and controlling all skus.
  • Import data into filemaker and excel.
  • Track and report shipment status, providing timely updates to relevant parties to ensure smooth delivery and ensuring shipments arrive on time.
  • Maintain accurate records of jewellery inventory in transit, and in stores worldwide.
  • Communicate proactively with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners to ensure efficient and effective coordination of shipments.
  • Handle inquiries and concerns related to shipping and provide solutions promptly.
  • Keep track of all open TIBs, carnets, imported & exported stock etc. and stock status worldwide.
  • Monitor and control shipping costs, seeking cost-effective solutions.
  • Assisting the team on any ad-hoc jobs, as and when required
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics and operations, preferably within the luxury goods sector or high jewellery industry.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping and customs regulations.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value inventory with an emphasis on security and confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems.
