If you are new qualified we have a great preceptorship programme that will help you explore where you want your future career to go and how to start planning for this.Anderson Ward is a 13 bed all female ward, this unique ward offers staff in-depth training and support from specialist trained therapy staff, the ward is highly functional and offers excellent evidence based care to some of our more complex patients. The team have fantastic support from the other wards on the unit and the bed management team.Asa staff nurse you will provide robust clinical decision making and management to junior staff team. You will be a source of mental health knowledge and expertise, have vision and resilience to support the ward and your colleagues in keeping the ward environment safe and productive.The role involves working with patients with acute and chronic mental health challenges, delivering comprehensive psychiatric assessment including risk assessment and risk management plans. There is a great emphasis on physical health care on the unit and staff receive regular training to ensure they are offering up to date interventions and feel confident to carry out care with the patients.Good communication skills are essential to deliver effective, high quality healthcare, ensuring the ward runs effectively, this will include aspects of people management, safer staffing, support staff development, clinical supervision, clinical effectiveness underpinned by evidence based care and key performance indicators and CQC standards. The applicant must be compassionate towards both patients and staff and have an open and honest presence.We are committed and passionate about continuous learning to improve patient care and can offer a range of learning opportunities to support the development of patient experience and your own knowledge.There is an opportunity to undertake psychological intervention training in DBT skills, trauma informed interventions and CBT skills, physical health training adding a range of procedures to your tool kit.
