Senior Manager - Operational ManagementApplication closing date: 21/11/2022Number of roles: 2Full-time, Fixed Term Appointed, duration: 12 MonthsA bit about the role...This is a rare chance to join the Operations Management team in the Delivery Enabling Services directorate to offer customer focussed support to the delivery teams. Working with key stakeholders across our business teams, you will have the opportunity tocontribute to the programme management service offer for the directorates that will help to deliver our housing, development and investment priorities. Working with key stakeholders and a professional team you will ensure efficient, consistent, and effectivereporting of financial and key performance indicators.The role is within the Operations Management team in the organisations Delivery Enabling Services Directorate - DES. The role will report directly to the Head of Investment Services in the Operational Management function of DES, to support staff in thedelivery teams, other DES colleagues, Senior Responsible Officers and budget holders to ensure the Agencys objectives are met. The role will be central to enabling senior officers and colleagues in the team ensure that government targets are achieved, deliveryis compliant with corporate and programme requirements and the directorate objectives are met.On a day to day basis your work will focus on proactively tracking and reporting on performance against targets, identifying delivery risks and issues and implementing mitigating actions to ensure the delivery teams objectives are met and feed through tocorporate objectives.The role will focus on reporting on the current and forecast performance, providing narrative on the overall delivery of funds, their targets and agreed policy outcomes. Through the provision of management information, analysis and business knowledge youwill support the directorate in managing their performance and monitoring progress against defined metrics through monthly, quarterly, annual and business planning cycles.The role requires strong numerical and analytical capability to undertake business planning and forecast the future performance of funds and identify mitigating actions in consultation with both Operational Management and frontline delivery colleagues.A bit about youYoull be comfortable working with large volumes of data and providing in-depth analysis to senior stakeholders preferably through your experience of budget management and financial reporting. Youll be comfortable supporting and challenging delivery teamsto address any process and performance management queries contributing to the collation of effective and intelligent information to monitor delivery activity across annual and multi-year profiles.You will have excellent reporting skills including Excel and be proficient in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing an operational management service whilst assisting in the development of new ways of working and robust processes.Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isnt always easy.
