Job Description

Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) is responsible for the on-boarding and ongoing credit risk management of J.P. Morgans Corporate & Investment Bank ("CIB") clients. The Global Central Counterparty (CCP) Credit Risk & Strategy Team (CRT) manages the risks emanatingfrom the CCP credit risk portfolio, which are some of the largest credit exposures as a result of mandatory clearing. The team partners closely with business units across Global Markets and Sales, Wholesale Payments, Securities Services, and Investment & CorporateBanking. The team liaises with external constituents to advocate for and address CCP risk concerns and related regulatory matters. In addition, CRT helps to ensure consistent JPM communication on CCP risks globally. WCR is recruiting an Executive Directoror senior Vice President to be the Team Lead for the EMEA Clearinghouse Credit Risk & Strategy Team. This new role will be London-based, covering all EMEA based CCP memberships of JPM. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading efforts describedhere on behalf of JPM. Responsibilities Actively overseeing a portfolio of EMEA CCPs, acting as senior credit officer and main point of contact for businesses and other functions Maintaining subject matter expertise on CCP risks in order to support team members,provide needed input to other internal groups, and lead external discussions with CCP officials/ regulators Influencing policy and regulations affecting CCPs in the EMEA region through regulatory engagement and via participation in industry associations, panelsand workshops Developing, managing and maintaining a strong team of credit risk professionals including ensuring team members effectively: Evaluate CCP rules/procedures as part of onboarding of CCPs Pro-actively monitor risk related developments at CCPs andleverage relationships with CCPs to effect needed changes Complete annual due diligence/ reviews, assign credit ratings and monitor exposures/limits Participate in CCP risk industry working groups to provide required input Leading transaction structuring/executionand negotiation of documentation Qualifications Extensive work experience in financial services, including familiarity with CCP risk management frameworks, knowledge of CCP/derivative- related regulatory/ legislative agendas and financial modeling and analysisexperience Robust management and leadership skills to drive results, enable and empower the team, and prioritize diversity and inclusion where all team members can contribute to their full potential Initiative and commitment to drive key CCP risk advocacyefforts across the region and proactively contribute to strategic global CRT-wide initiatives Exceptional partnership skills to build and maintain relationships with CCPs (and other external constituents) to stay abreast of market developments, business needsand emerging CCP risk-related best practices and issues Demonstrated ability to break-down silos and foster close collaboration across the risk organization and other lines of businesses to ensure credit risk strategy is uniformly delivered Excellent communicationskills including ability to convey the bigger picture and quickly scale up or down technical details in messaging Solid control mindsight: ensure credit policy and processes are observed and controls are maintained and independently challenge first line andescalate emerging risks or issues Knowledge of derivatives and traditional credit products; good understanding of market and credit risk measurement concepts and effective decision making with credit risk management experience Strong attention to detail, excellentanalytical skills and ability to work under pressure and deliver on multiple time sensitive timelines
