Job Description

Job role: Activate Learning are now looking for enthusiastic and inspiring SEND/LLDD teachers to join our Lifeskills team at Reading College.The Lifeskills team works to support learners who face substantial barriers to education, including learners withspecial educational needs. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.The post holder will teach from PreEntry- Level 1 to full-time groups via face-to-face teaching delivery, 1:1 intervention, small groups and remote delivery. Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability toinspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.Successful candidates will be able to demonstrateresilience and empathy to support students to succeed and encourage them to reach their potential. In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have an open mindset and attitudetowards technology and virtual learning tools. Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
