ROLE PURPOSE This role sits within the Investment Strategy team. The team is responsible for developing overall investment strategy and for promoting asset diversification into the PIC portfolio. The team works collaboratively across Investments, researchingnew markets, sectors and jurisdictions across Debt Origination, Real Assets and ERM. The team develops individual asset proposals, taking them through appropriate review and governance with the aim of enabling assets to be executed by the relevant team withinInvestments. In 2020/21 the team gained approval to enter the long-income market with a focus on income strips. We are now progressing with 3 live transactions having gained internal Investment Committee approval to proceed with the strategy. These assetsare ideal for an annuity provider and as such this role will be responsible for executing this strategy by growing the pipeline and executing transactions in this market.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Continuing to build PICs relationships across the sector, ideallybringing a network of contacts from which property long leasehold transactions with a focus on Income Strips suitable for an annuity portfolio. Originating investment grade transactions per our mandate that meet our return targets, taking these through theinternal approval process ensuring that the risk and mitigants in the transactions are acceptable for PIC. Managing the due diligence process, including appointing and managing a range of advisors to assist in this process through to execution. Working withvarious teams across PIC to ensure that all relevant matters are considered appropriately. This will include but not be limited to tax, accounting and legal considerations. General Strong collaboration across the wider investment team with regular meetingsto ensure information sharing Support ad hoc PRA reporting as required ESSENTIAL: 10+ years experience of origination of property [long leasehold] transactions Ability to structure, assess and negotiate investment opportunities Understanding of the driversof value in the asset class and the relative attractiveness versus other alternative strategies Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders DESIRABLE: Commercial and regulatoryawareness of the marketplace in which PIC operates Understanding of the rating approach of investments
