WHAT WE DO The Music, Media and Performance Production Department at Leeds City College has an exceptional reputation in the region for outstanding education. We are a large creative department which includes a wide range ofcreative pathways for our learners including. Level 1 Music, Level 2 & Level 3 Music Performance, Level 2 & 3 Music Production as well as our Access to HE.We provide vocational skills to around 250 Music based learners. Our staff are highly skilled educationalistswith strong industry links and knowledge. Our department has a passion for developing young and adult learners in a post 16 setting at our new creative arts campus at Quarry Hill in Leeds. We have a wide range of specialist facilities including two recordingstudios, Theatre space, MIDI suites and a variety of rehearsal spaces for soloists and ensembles.WHAT YOU WILL DO Plan a creative and relevant Music performance curriculum with teams of teachers Teach and assess on our Music courses Innovate and develop newprovision with new resources Oversee and support the learning of around 120 learners Work and be supported in a strong staff team of 10 music practitioners Build external relationships with music venues and organisations linking our Music provisions to creativeindustry opportunities in Leeds. Oversee and support the Internal Verification processYOUR PROFILE Knowledge and experience of working within the Further Education sector Instrumental knowledge and experience of developing musicians through solo and ensembleworkshops Technical knowledge of Audio software and some recording studio experience An understanding of the current Education Inspection Framework and how this relates to the Music Industry Experience in Live performance A proven track record of Quality Assuranceand supporting learners to develop and progress throughout their course The ability to work with others to create a curriculum that is exciting and engagingA LITTLE BIT ABOUT LEEDS CITY COLLEGELeeds City College is part of the Luminate Education Group, andis one of the UKs largest FE establishments with around 1,440 employees and over 22,560 students.
