By ensuring military equipment is safeto operate with world-leading capabilities, this team makes a big difference to projects integral to supporting our Armed Forces!Safety Engineers can choose their permanent workstation from the list below:MOD Manchester, Piccadilly Gate, Store Street, Manchester,M1 2WDKentigern House, 65 Brown Street, Glasgow, G2 8EXRNAS Yeovilton, Ilchester, Somerset, BA22 8HTWattisham Flying Station, 2 Valley Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP7 7REPlease note some attendance to the stated site may be required for this position.We stronglyrecommend tailoring your CV in line with our CV guidance before applying, with specific sections to highlight Key Achievements, Relevant Experience, and Applied Skills & Knowledge.Responsibilities for Safety EngineerAs a Safety Engineer, your responsibilitieswill include, but not be limited to, the following:Developing artefacts/evidence used in the assessment of environmental/safety risk, and considering the implications of changes to equipment design, offering mitigation advice in the processProviding adviceand support to colleagues, ensuring that appropriate safety requirements are correctly applied and delivered in contractsCreating and implementing safety management systems for products, services or systems, as either part of design or in-service supportInterpretingand applying safety policy for the design and support of platforms and equipmentUtilising your exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to offer all of the above services across multiple areas, including Maritime, Land, Weapons, Air andSubmarines, ensuring that your solutions are understood and appropriately executed What you will be assessed againstTo be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:Hold a minimum of a Level 4 (e.g.HNC) qualification in an engineering or science discipline, or will demonstrate equivalent relevant industry experienceHave experience using a range of safety tools and techniques, to provide advice and guidance on complex projects, e.g. Hazard Log Management;Hazard Identification; Risk Assessment and ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) justificationsHave some experience in the development and writing of safety artefacts in support of compelling safety bodies of evidenceIn addition to the responsibilitiesabove, the following technical competencies and behaviours will be assessed at interview:Compliance with Policy (Supervised Practitioner)Complies with Systems Safety Requirements (Supervised Practitioner)Communicating and influencingChanging and improvingWhatsin it for youOur careers offer stability, training, progressionand much more!
