Job Description

The NSG Group is a global leader in glass manufacturing in three business areas: Architectural, Automotive and Technical Glass.Our mission is to be the global leader in innovative high-performance glass and glazing solutions, working safely and ethically.Joining the Manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a range of prototype manufacturing process equipment including pre-process line, printing, bending furnaces, lamination and final inspection, within the R&D prototyping facility.Operating process equipment, supporting new product and new process development projects as well as technical support work, responsibilities include;

  • adhering to all safety and quality requirements
  • operation of any of the facility equipment
  • operator-based preventative maintenance
  • control of relevant direct and indirect materials
  • writing of quality documentation including SOPs and production records
  • movement of glass and components within the facility.
  • The quality requirements for products must be fully understood and the impact of process control on delivering the product quality is fundamental. To this end, various tests and measurements must also be performed as part of control plans for the processes and to support the development of products. The role provides an opportunity for people looking to build their knowledge and skills in glass processing, working in a semi-production environment.Successful candidates will have a good grasp of numbers, competence in science/ engineering/technical subjects, and strong practical ability, with experience in an industrial-type environment or similar would be a benefit. A commitment to learning and a hands-on, active interest in the operation and production of glass products is essential. If appropriate there may be an opportunity to complete a level 3 manufacturing apprenticeship alongside carrying out the role.Finally, you will have good organisational, time management and team working skills and a strong commitment to quality and health and safety compliance.A full UK driving licence and car ownership would be an advantage due to limited public transport to the site.If you believe you can take on the challenge, we very much want to hear from you!This is a Blue Octopus Recruitment Ltd vacancy who are operating as an employment agency.
