Job Description

Head of ApprenticeshipsKnowsley, Prescot (Remote working offered)Permanent Opportunity37.5 Hours per week with early finish on FridayBPS World is an official recruitment partner of a leading adult education training provider who specialise in supporting people aged 19 and over looking to take that first step towards higher education after school.As Head of Apprenticeships, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our operational practices and managing the Apprenticeship Tutors and Skills Development Coaches to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.Key Responsibilities:

  • The strong management of the Tutors/Skills Development Coaches is key to the success of this role
  • Planning programmes and curriculum in line with market demand and customer needs
  • Working closely with Business Development team to agree and accelerate the sales strategy for the Region
  • Managing and co-ordinating the daily activities of your team
  • Setting KPIs and monitoring performance
  • Supporting Tutors/Skills Development Coaches where intervention is required
  • Support the business in utilising available funding contracts
  • Remain abreast with developments in the L&D funding arena
  • Use innovation as a tool to achieve growth and encourage its development in others
  • Complete all necessary reporting to keep line management and the wider business informed and progress towards achieving agreed targets
  • Key Requirements:
  • Apprenticeship operational management experience
  • Senior leadership experience
  • Experience of managing and influencing a team
  • Self-motivated with the ability to drive teams to achieve outstanding results
  • Experience of monitoring and tracking achievement rates
  • Experience of Ofsted/other inspections
  • Designing and developing curriculum in line with learner and employer needs
  • Thorough understanding of the Apprenticeship Levy
  • True leader with a clear vision and the ability to drive teams to deliver
  • Enhanced interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and professional manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own car
  • Desirable Job Knowledge:
  • CAVA/TAQA/A1 qualified
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a teaching, learning or assessment role, delivering Apprenticeship Frameworks/Standards
  • V1/IQA qualified
  • Qualification in Management Level 3 or above
  • Experience of working for a Private Training Provider or FE/HE Establishment
  • Experience of meeting audit expectations (e.g. ESFA)
  • Previous experience of working with Awarding Bodies
