Customs Supervisor - Freight Forwarding - Newcastle - Up to £40,000About the CompanyIm working with a large freight forwarder based in central Newcastle who are looking to recruit a Customs Supervisor The main purpose of this position will be to direct, manage and maintain overall customs compliance procedures to ensure that their companiesoperate in conformity with various rules and regulations. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations for the companies Customs function.Supervisory experience isnt necessary, but you will need to be a proven customs specialist who is willing to recruit, train, and manage a team of customs coordinators.Customs Supervisor - The Rewards* Salary up to £40,000* Training and career developmentCustoms Supervisor - Requirements* Industry related experience.* High level of customs knowledge.* Familiar with various customs software packages.* MS Word & Excel.* Port CSP Software* Strong Customs Tariff experience and knowledge.* Good motivator of people.* Strong leader.* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.* Enthusiastic and personal drive to succeed.* Excellent attention to detailCustoms Supervisor - Responsibilities* Recruit, train, and manage staff under direct control.* Assist with any customs requirements for the company* Co-ordination of any special projections such as customs warehousing and CFSP.* Ensure support to UK branches is maintained.* Monitor and maintain the department budget.* Attend management meetings when required.* Overall administration for department and ingoing systems training supervision.* Ensure compliance of staffs KPIs under your management and measure accordingly.* Regular appraisals of customs department employees.* Ensure customs entries are completed with minimal errors.* Monitor company deferment.* Complete and monitor all UK reclaims.* Assist clients to remain in compliance with customs laws.* Able to resolve all stops and detains.* Any other delegated tasks as deemed reasonable by the reporting manager.* Oversee all clearances for road freight movementsAbout Us Detail2Recruitment acts as an employment agency in respect of this position.
