Job Description

Do you have experience in social housing and are you looking for a new challengeAre you a resilient individual who prides themselves on helping othersAre you looking for part-time work and do you have your own transportOur client, a highly respected organisation within the housing industry, have the opportunity for a part time Temporary Housing Officer to join their team from now until the end of March 2024. This is an incredibly varied role where no 2 days will be thesame so someone who is adaptable and flexible is an absolute must! The hours of the work are 17.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri but fully flexible to suit the needs of the individual, the pay rate is £17.90ph. Also the successful candidate must have a full drivinglicence and access to a car on their working days/hours.The objectives of the Housing Officer role:To deliver an excellent and comprehensive tenant and customer-focused housing management service. The Housing Officer is responsible for managing and keeping abreast with all housing management activities including estate management, tenancy management,tenancy disputes, anti-social behaviour, tenant participation, allocations and debt control. As well as supporting tenants, the Housing Officer will also be expected to play a lead role, providing specialist advice/assistance to other members of the team asand when the business needs.Your role will include but not be limited to:

  • Management and reporting of estate management, tenancy management; tenancy disputes, anti-social behaviour, tenant participation, allocations, and debt control
  • Identifying of requirements for the support service and encouragement of effective tenant participation while providing a professional support referral and advice service
  • Providing specialist advice/assistance to other members of the team on specific housing functions
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of Housing services to tenants, in line with regulatory and legal requirements
  • Working alongside the debt recovery officers to monitor all rent/rechargeable accounts and control arrears
  • Carry out pre-let interviews and accompanied viewings including support for the completion of welfare benefit forms where necessary.
  • Serve appropriate notices on any abandoned properties and arrange for the disposal of related goods.
  • Attend case conferences and meetings out with normal working hours as required.
  • Handling of various issues that may arise within the post at various times.
