Through our principal products of clay bricks, brick components, concrete roof tiles, concrete stone masonry substitutes, concrete fencing, pre-stressed concrete products and concrete rail products, were committedto providing new solutions to todays social and environmental challenges for the new build housing and domestic repair, maintenance, improvement markets (RMI) and infrastructure.THE ROLEReporting to the Director of Engineering, as Regional Engineering Manager you will lead a team of central engineers, whilst coordinating regional support for the factory engineering maintenance teams, assuming overall responsibility for deploying the Engineeringand Maintenance strategy across the area.You will be responsible for building strength, competence and ownership into the factory engineering teams; Instrumental in developing and delivering process improvement projects on time, to budget whilst supporting the building of a culture focused on bothsustainable and continuous improvement, where our people and process deliver exceptional performance.KEY RESPONSIBILITESHealth, Safety & WellbeingCreating an environment where the health, safety, environmental and wellbeing of colleagues must be the absolute priority and where high standards are expected.LeadershipVisible leadership and engagement of your team to develop a culture of high performance through effective goal setting, regular reviews, individual and team development plans and effective coaching.Creating an inclusive work climate through role modelling Ibstocks core values of Teamwork, Trust, Care, Courage, and Ibstocks 6 H&S Rules.Create a high performance culture with the site engineering teams with key deliverables and development goals to grow their capabilitiesCoach and develop your team to maximise their strengths and close any development gaps.Develop a highly engaged regional workforce through effective leadership of teams and individualsIdentify and develop talent in the regional factory engineering teams in order to ensure the business has the required knowledge, skills and behaviours for future success.Operational ExcellenceWorking with the central engineering team toDevelop improvement projects, such as RCA (Root Cause Analysis), RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance), CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), Engineering stores etc. for the businessBuild and embed a strategic approach to PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and to improve MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) / MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure)Define equipment and maintenance process specifications to ensure that suppliers and equipment comply with requirements, and that supply of equipment is standardisedDriving a long-term investment strategy and opportunities for factory expansion and improvementsWorking with the Regional Factory Engineering teams to Deliver group improvement projects to the region, such as RCA (Root Cause Analysis), RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance), CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), Engineering storesetc.Working with all stakeholders to prioritise the allocation of the central engineering resources in the regionSupporting the regional sites with key technical knowledge during shutdowns and breakdowns.Supporting the regional sites with Capex applications and projects.SustainabilityLead your team to make a positive contribution to the local community, and support the most vulnerable in society.Embed the Ibstock Sustainability Roadmap into our culture.Add to the innovation toward zero carbon footprint.FinanceSupport preparation and delivery the Central Engineering Team budget ensuring that all planned spend is correctly costed and in line with budget.Track and report capital budgets, R & M budgets applications, approvals and spends for the region.Monitoring the project capabilities and technical competency of OEMs working on capital projects in the region.Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceHas knowledge of current Health, Safety, Environmental and Employment legislation Experience in deploying group wide / multi-site maintenance strategies including maintenance reporting systems and CMMSIs an outstanding operational leader who meets challengewith a pragmatic and resilient approach. Has strong influencing and engagement skills demonstrated through values based leadership and role modelling positive leadership behaviours.A natural coach and team builder with exceptional interpersonal skills who enjoys developing and leading others to improve their performance.Is financially competent, able to construct and manage budgets and develop capital expenditure plans.Able to use IT systems effectively.Demonstrable experience of the planning and management of engineering projectsHighly developed literacy, numeracy and communication skillsExperience or Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and CI tools and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, 5S, Standard Work , 5S, Kaizen Visual Management would be advantageous.QualificationsEssentialA recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Level 3 or above.DesirableNEBOSH General CertificatePlease note, it is our policy to verify all relevant qualifications.
