Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Digital Support Technician (Level 3 - 18-months) to join our Tech Team at Group Head Office, Ibstock, LE67 6HS.

  • Location: - 10 minute drive from Coalville
- 20 – 25 minute drive from Ashby-De-La-Zouch & Hinckley - 30 minute drive from Leicester City Centre
  • This Apprenticeship takes 18 months to complete – gaining a level 3 qualification as a Digital Support Technician.
  • The working hours are Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00 paying an annual salary of £19,023.

  • Upon completion of the programme you will have attained the skills and knowledge to start your career within a IT/Tech department role.

We aim to make your role as varied as possible in order to give you a great understanding of what a careerin Tech can offer. You will work closely with the following teams on a rotation throughout your time to gain new skills and apply your learning directly in areas that will strengthen your knowledge.
  • Infrastructure team - deploying new equipment to users, virtual machines and cloud based technologies
  • Business Intelligence team - Ensuring data within the business is accurate, available quickly and transferable between applications
  • Applications team - Maintaining the Group ERP system and streamlining the associated processes in order to help grow the business
  • Security & Risk team - Identifying risks and reacting to threats with the most up to date technology to protect the businesses systems and data
  • Service Desk - First point of contact for colleagues with IT queries, following up to help resolve issues
  • IT Operations - Ensuring department processes are followed to comply with audits and governance
  • Factory systems - Liaising with factory personnel to set up and maintain digital factory systems and connectivity
Essential requirements:
  • You will have a keen appetite to learn and grow your skillsand an ability to learn technical concepts/terms easily, as well as applying your training to real life situations.
  • Joining a team delivering digital evolution to a FTSE 250 building products manufacturing business, this role gives the successful candidate opportunities to be involved in a number of exciting projects gaining experience for their future career.
  • As a hybrid-working role, you will be in the office a minimum of 2 days a week to suit your study schedule and the needs of the business.
  • You will need a minimum of two GCSEs Grade A* - C or Grade 4 and above (or equivalents) including Maths and English.
