Job Description

Were looking for a Project Designer to join our ambitious and growing team.Job Title: Project DesignerLocation: Ibstock, Leicestershire, LE67 6HPSalary: £25,000 - £30,000 p.a. DOE + bonus + pensionHours: 39 hours per week8:30am-5pm, 4pm finish on FridayAbout Us:Established in 2009, based in NW Leicestershire we are specialists in office refurbishment and warehouse solutions. From initial concepts to design and installations we pride ourselves on delivering projects of the highest quality within agreed timescales,budget and with minimal disruption to our clients.Were looking for a Project Designer to join our ambitious and growing team.You will be an integral part of our busy team. You will develop detailed working drawing packages for the onsite delivery team, manage a busy workload and have a passion to develop the role and standards of the company.You should be based locally and within a reasonable distance of our office in Ibstock, LeicestershireOur clients are at the forefront of what we do, so as the person in this role you will be encouraged to improve the client experience wherever you can.The Role:Our design and delivery approach makes this an exciting opportunity to fulfil a pivotal role within the company.

  • You will work closely with the wider team to help deliver a variety of projects from new partitions to full office fit outs.
  • Attending initial client brief meetings and undertaking site surveys around the East Midlands
  • Working with clients and contractors to create full drawing packs ready for construction
  • Produce excellent design concept drawings to help with project bids
  • Using finishes, fit out and furniture specification knowledge to support the project lead in making changes in specifications as required
  • Attending client meetings - Presenting finishes and quotations
  • Sourcing and liaising with manufacturers and suppliers
  • Keeping the design library organised and with up-to-date samples
  • Creating client presentation documents
  • Creating finishes schedules and updating procurement documents
  • Actively enhancing GP margin using negotiating skills with suppliers wherever possible
  • supporting internal processes and suggesting improvements to internal documents and procedures as necessary
  • The person in this role will be able to work well and communicate effectively within the team, supporting the onsite team and project lead with technical specifications and drawings whilst a project is preparing for and live on site.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
  • Knowledge of SketchUp & Vray, or alternative 3D visualisation software highly desirable
  • Proficient in MS office suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience of quoting and procuring office furniture (desirable)
  • A passion for interiors and providing workspace solutions
  • Understanding, interpreting, and delivering on customer needs
  • Creative problem solver - use own initiative
  • Numerateunderstanding of design decisions upon budgets
  • Strong organisational skills, with ability to manage priorities
  • Teamwork across all sectors of our business
  • Ability to meet tight timescales and work under pressure
  • Ideally 3+ years experience of construction industry (preferably commercial interiors)
  • Up to date understanding of regulatory and legislative construction requirements
  • Full UK driving licence

  • This is a full-time role.
