IT Support Engineer 2nd Line Help Desk

THE OPPORTUNITY: Macildowie are currently recruiting for an IT Support Engineer (2nd Line HelpDesk) to be the backbone of the IT helpdesk for service delivery and taking ownership of problems to fix issues remotely. Along with working on the helpdesk requests you will alsovisit site and sales offices to provide support and install equipment, this will also include taking ownership of our South Midlands regional office. This is a permanent full time office based position. THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: To support and monitor the companys internal and external networksTo respond to 1st/2nd Line Help Desk calls and planned work requestsTo log all calls on the call logging systemTo manage resolution or escalate them to another team memberTo maintain assets and audit log of any software or hardwareTo liaise with external suppliers and support companies To ensure that all work and changes are performed in such a way as to minimise all disruption to existing business useTo assist in documenting processes, procedures, and standardsTo perform activities in a productive, timely and effective mannerTo ensure that technology is used, managed, and supported in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures.To work alongside team members within the IT Department on support, development, and project workProvide on call weekend cover on a Rota basis EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE: Full UK Driving licenseExcellent communication skills and phone mannerGood organisation and time management skillsGood documentation skillsAbility to prioritise, escalate and resolve any incoming and existing Service Desk ticketsExperience of working on an IT Service Desk and supporting staff internally and remotelyActive Directory knowledge and experienceMicrosoft 365 and Exchange Online administration and troubleshootingNetworking troubleshooting skills and knowledge VPN, VLANS, DHCP, DNS, TCPIP and IP configurationExcellent Windows 10 knowledge and experienceAnti-virus/Anti-spamAndroid and iOS experience and knowledge3/4 years+ previous experience in IT support roleMacildowie is a specialist recruitment consultancy with a rich history of enhancing the careers of professionals across the Midlands and the Northern Home Counties.
