Job Description

Our customer focus is based on quality, service and consistency and our service-led ethos is one of the key drivers in the growth of our market share over the past 10 years.With the appointment of a new Chief Information and Digital Officer, we are looking to take technology development forward enabling the change required within the organisation and helping Ibstock service its customers. Working for the Head of Project Delivery, as Senior Project Manager, you will be working in delivering high priority projects that have a significant IT element. You will manage one or more projects and will work collaboratively with colleagues across the businessto deliver against agreed targets ensuring full adoption of the delivered solution. You will ensure that projects of work are delivered to scope, time, cost alongside effective risk management, ensuring the company achieves maximum value from its investment.As our Senior Project Manager, you will be:

  • Accountable for day-to-day delivery, management, coordination, and control of assigned projects including initiation of appropriate project document and governance including scope, benefits, costs, roles and deliverables, with support of business owners.
  • Responsible for scoping and creating project plans within agreed stage gates.
  • Responsible for managing all resources assigned to the project, setting clear objectives and managing performance on a project-by-project basis. Responsible for providing feedback on performance to project boards as agreed within the governance model.
  • Accountable for forecasting and reporting of key project information, updating agreed project management reports, logs and documentation and feeding into programme reporting.
  • Ensuring the relationship with the business is strong and we ensure we drive maximum value in the delivery of project.
  • An ambassador for good project management as we look to build this capability within the organisation.
  • Acting as cover for Head of Project delivery as required.
Key Skills/Experience:
  • Professional Project Management Qualification (e.g. APM, Prince 2)
  • Experience of delivery of IT enabled projects in the most effective and efficient way, including agile, working alongside business colleagues to maximise the investment and deliver change
  • Understanding of how core IT systems such as ERP work to a level that allows effective engagement with the IT department.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, being able to engage with all levels within the organisation and with the ability to effectively manage supplier relationships.
  • Self-starter with a record of delivering projects in a complex cross-functional environment.
  • High level of resilience with the ability to maintain positive can-do attitude
  • Analytical mind set with the ability to understand trends and make data led decisions
  • Strong and structured approach to project management with the ability to manage costs against benefits
  • Able to demonstrate the core Ibstock values of teamwork, care, trust and courage
