Our customer focus is based on quality, service and consistency and our service-led ethos is one of the key drivers in the growth of our market share over the past 10 years.Summary of the main purpose of the job:We are looking for a Procurement Expert to support the selection of suppliers, benchmarking, negotiation and contract implementation for major capital projects. This will also include the need to ensure appropriate souring of materials and services for thetransition from project to ongoing operations.Experience within a manufacturing environment and of major capital equipment purchase and services is key. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your ability to negotiate, drive significant benefits and efficiencies through the entire project process.Working closely with the Project Delivery Team, you will be expected to lead the Procurement Work stream within the specific projects providing Procurement expertise and reporting through to Group Procurement.Using your expertise in Procurement, you will manage internal and external relationships, ensuring a high standard of service is delivered, collaborating with the different stakeholders and supporting the delivery of major projectsYou will develop and implement sourcing plans focusing on cost, quality and sustainability with an aim of creating partnerships with our key suppliers.Key responsibilities:

  • Developing appropriate sourcing strategies based on detailed knowledge of the market gained through comprehensive internal and external data collection and evaluation
  • Preparation and presentation to senior stakeholders of recommended sourcing strategies and the benefits and implementation plans
  • Developing and working with cross functional groups in the implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Accurate measurement of benefits achieved
  • Negotiations with and management of suppliers in specified categories including the resolution of issues that may arise
  • Contract compliance reporting in conjunction with Procurement Manager / monitoring and working in conjunction with end users and suppliers.
  • Ensure the value of the procurement function is clear to the business and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to a positive working environment within the Project/Procurement function
Key Attributes:
    • The jobholder will be a high calibre purchasing professional with a record of significant achievement
    • Sound Engineering knowledge specifically Mechanical/Electricalgood experience in complex Projects with multiple suppliers
    • Network on Machinery Contacts specifically fabrication and construction but also possibly AGV/LGVs/Material Handling
    • Good understanding of Contract Process/experience of Contract negotiation
    • Experience of working with European/Overseas Suppliers
    • Financial understanding
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly and work fast/take ownership
    • Proven track record of driving costs down and improving supplier performance
    • Strong negotiator with first class interpersonal skills
    • Excellent project management and influencing skills
    • Effective and broad IT skills enabling the collection and presentation of information
    • Ability to work on their own initiative toward a range of pre-agreed targets
    • Ability to chair and lead working groups
    • Resilient with a drive for change.
    • Ability to speak in Italian (Desirable)
