Position: Operations Manager: Freight ForwardingLocation: Holmfield, HalifaxIndustry: International Freight ForwardingHours: Mon - Fri - 8:30am - 17:00pmSalary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits25 Days Holiday + 8 BHOperations Manager required for Global Freight Forwarding & Supply Chain Organisation in Holmfield.You have the opportunity as Operations Manager to play a key role in building your team and growing our purpose-built site. You will have responsibility for the efficient running of the Operations departments and delivering service excellence for our high-profile, well-known retail customers. Continuing to provide effective communication, leadership motivation, training and development in line with the requirements of the businessAs an Operations Manager you will be required to:Manage daily operation for the customer contracts ensuring accuracy and daily KPIs are achieved.Analyse daily performance indicators, encourage awareness and drive performance improvementsManage planning, production processes, equipment and resource in accordance with company expectations and valuesLead and support the management of People resources in the Operations teamControl stock and respond to warehouse queriesDevelop, implement, and review Standard Operating Procedures for all processesLead, manage, develop and coach the People Manager teamMaintain high standards of quality, a safe working environment and compliance alwaysManage absence and attrition to achieve daily labour rateProactively help, support and train the team in terms of performance, welfare and conduct in line with company policies and procedures Understanding the customers needs and facilitating change to ensure the customers needs are met Ensure business required targets are achieved within set timeframesSkills & Experience Required:Extensive career history in the Freight Forwarding industryMulti Modal operational Freight experience across, air, sea, road and courier shipmentsExcellent organisational skills with the proven ability to meet deadlinesExcellent people management skills, the ability to lead a team successfully and the capability to influence those around youAbility to demonstrate success in implementing changes to achieve "better, faster, cheaper"Effective communication skills both written and verbal allowing you to converse with key stakeholders in the business both internally and externallyUnderstanding of HR policies and procedures Ability to show an understanding of analytics & useful insights that enable acquisition & retention An excellent knowledge of Microsoft, in particular word, excel and outlook Previous experience of working with Cargowise or similar Freight Forwarding management systemsWR Transport & Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for transport jobs and logistics jobs.
