Job Description

Strategic Engagement Manager (12 Month FTC)Homebased, UK (with monthly travel to NPA locations and the London Office)The CompanyWe are National Parks England (NPE), the association of the Authorities which look after the 10 National Parks in England and we work to promote their needs.We co-ordinate and support the policy views of the National Park Authorities (NPAs), by facilitating discussion and supporting their development and capacity to effect change.We achieve these goals by raising the profile of the work the authorities undertake to policymakers and Parliamentarians.Crucially, we ensure that our parks are sustainable, enjoyable and prosperous, so that they can be enjoyed by their many visitors now and future generations to come.We are currently looking for a Strategic Engagement Manager to join us for a 12 month fixed-term contract, working on a full-time basis.The Benefits- Salary of £56,600 per annumThis is a fantastic role for an individual with experience of building strategic partnerships to join us as we ensure the future prosperity of Englands National Parks.If you perform at your best whilst advocating for a cause you passionately believe in, we can offer you a highly engaging position, where you will contribute to the sustainability and development of Englands most treasured natural spaces.So, if you have experience of working in protected landscapes and understand the value that they offer to both their communities and the millions of visitors who enjoy them, this is the perfect position for you!The RoleAs the Strategic Engagement Manager, you will support the development of the new National Landscape Partnership by representing us at the national, strategic level.Acting as the primary liaison between NPE and DEFRA, you will attend partnership planning meetings as an internal advocate to provide information and support the business planning process.Overseeing and providing feedback on proposals, you will consider governance or operational issues and provide the NPE Board with additional strategic insight or flag developments for Board approval.About YouTo be considered as a Strategic Engagement Manager, you will need:- Experience of successful partnership working at the regional and/or national level- Evidence of working with key delivery organisations in Protected Landscapes- Strong understanding of the national strategic context within which National Parks operate- The ability to integrate and assimilate large amounts of data in a complex policy context- The ability to act as a representative and increase engagement with our policies- The ability to work at the national level with a range of audiences- Excellent communication skills- Excellent IT skills, especially MS Word, Access and PowerPointIdeally, you will have a recognised professional qualification or degree (or equivalent) and a strong understanding of the National Landscape review.Other organisations may call this role Partnership Implementation and Operations Manager, Project Manager, Strategic Partnership Manager, Partnership Manager, Engagement Project Manager, or Communications Project Manager.Webrecruit and National Parks England are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
