Job Description

Project Design Engineer - based in either Helmsley or GirvanThis is a great opportunity to join a growing, progressive business that has a wide variety of challenges and technologies. Land Energy is one of the UK’s leading biomass energy businesses and specialises in pellet production and clean energy services and they have recently commissioned an exciting co-product G2 secondary production facility. Land Energy has a 70 strong workforce, state of the art biomass CHP equipped with an Organic Rankine Cycle turbine and a 100,000-tonne wood pellet production plant & secondary co-product production facility.As Project Design Engineer you will be working closely with the Project team to support the implementation of the site project maintenance and development plans and you will be capable of managing a project from concept stage to completion,on time and within budget.

Working within the project team to take several projects from conception stage to full completion
Designing new engineering processes and improved methods of working
Finding creative design solutions to problems
Ensuring profitable execution and delivery of projects through design
Monitoring accuracy and quality standards to ensure they are met at all times
Developing innovative, commercially and environmentally sustainable solutions to projects
Assisting with training and maintenance of the service levels and standards for internal clients
Co-operating effectively with all areas of the business to ensure the workflow moves successfully between departments
Providing technical validation

The successful Project Design Engineer will be a team player who can demonstrate the following:

Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, namely Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Process.
A good level of understanding of SOLIDWORKs or similar
Experienced in engineering/architectural design/process engineering
Demonstrable experience of Best in Class’ manufacturing techniques, processes and principles
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex problems into simple solutions
Pragmatic problem solver, with ability to contend & deliver with conflicting constraints
Intermediate level of Word/Excel/Microsoft Project
