Job Description

Our client operates a variety of businesses in the hospitality sector based in the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting into the Financial Controller,the role is varied, you will be involved in all aspects of management accounting in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment. Your ideas and suggestions to identify and implement changes to systems and improve efficiencies will allow you to make a differenceto the finance function and gain practical experience to support your professional qualificationsKey Responsibilities Include:

Monitoring and preparing aged debtors reports
Posting all debtors invoices raised by the Buying Department
Reconciliation and allocation of retrospective discounts
Machine income reconciliation and posting journal
Posting of all the intercompany recharges at period end and ensuring intercompany transactions are in balance
Reconciliation of prepayments and posting journal to clear down
Calculating and posting of necessary accruals
Maintenance of the accruals and prepayment schedules
Cost of sales calculation and posting adjustments at each period end
Analysing, reviewing and challenging stock results and reports with 3rd party stock takers following stock takes at units
Analysis of P&Ls at period end and distributing accounts packs as necessary
Liaising with operation/unit managers with queries on P&Ls
Balance sheet reconciliations of all control accounts
VAT/MGD return on a quarterly basis
Assisting with forecasting during the year
Assisting in the preparation of the annual budgets
Assistance with preparation of year end accounts

To be a successful Management Accountant you will have the following skills and experience:

IT skills - Excel, email, accounting systems, transaction processing.
SUN v6 experience is desirable
A good knowledge of Double Entry Book-keeping
Clear and effective communications skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Clear and logical thinking with good organisational skills and an ability to work to deadlines.
An ACCA/ ACMA Studier or Qualified by Experience
