Job Description

Engineering & Fabrication Workshop Labourer£10+ per hour subject to experienceDroitwich, Worcestershire, WR9Full Time, PermanentOur Clients company was founded in 1966, initially servicing the press tool industry in the Birmingham area. The business is still owned by the same family but has diversified into several complementary market areas across the UK and Europe. They offerstate of the art 3D CAD design and Computer Aided Manufacture, and the business now provides bespoke tooling and work-holding solutions to a variety of Blue-chip customer across market sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace, Off Highway Vehicles, White Goodsand Food Processing.Due to continued growth, they now have an opportunity for an Engineering & Fabrication Workshop Labourer to join their busy, professional team.Reporting to the Operations Manager you will perform varied duties and tasks around a busy engineering and fabrication workshop, to support all aspects of manufacturing operations.About the Engineering & Fabrication Workshop Labourer role:General Maintenance:You will actively assist in maintaining tidiness and cleanliness around plant equipment and site facilities, observing at all times the companys Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policy. Where instances of non-conformance occur, you will report themimmediately to your Line Manager and / or the area Supervisor.General maintenance duties may include: Delivery of product to customers / fabricating providers using the companys vehicles. This may require travelling long distances. Forklift truck driving to assist with the movement of material and product throughout manufacturing operations, always observing pedestrian safety, and ensuring walkways remain unobstructed. As required, assist with pre and post fabrication work. Descaling, linishing, deburring etc. Assist with goods receiving / receipt of deliveries, checking the goods received match the delivery note. Items are to be stored appropriately and the delivery note handed to the appropriate person. The emptying and cleaning of Swarf Bins and ensuring the Swarf is disposed of in accordance with the companys HS&E policy. Assist with general cleaning duties around the internal and external areas of the site as part of the companys drive toward maintaining the highest level of HS&E compliance, ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.About the Successful Engineering and Fabrication Workshop Labourer Candidate:Essential skills: Full, clean driving licence. Delivery and collection driving. Safe loading and securing of loads on vehicles for transportation. Forklift truck operator licence with experience in handling and storing over-size / unequal loads. Confident and able to work independently or with minimal supervision once given a task. Ability to communicate clearly, with confidence and act as the companys ambassador when dealing with customers or suppliers. Willing to take responsibility for maintaining the highest possible standards of work. Maintain a team working ethos. Able to undertake manual lifting of equipment and products.Desirable skills: Knowledge of warehouse safety, storage and racking regulations. Basic site maintenance skills, electrical / pneumatic / machine maintenance. Knowledge of manual handling regulations. Knowledge of work at height regulations. Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems relating to receipt of goods and material.
