Job Description

Team Lead/ Senior Mental Health Practitioner (Band 7)– £43,742 -£50,056– Groby Road, LeicesterThe RoleAre you an experienced and motivated Band 7 Mental Health Practitioner looking to lead a busy team If so, we have a new opportunity for you.An exciting opportunity has arisen at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join the busy Crisis Resolution Home Treatment team.The Crisis Resolution Home Treatment team provides an assessment and home treatment service where intense input is required to prevent hospital admission or support early transition from hospital.The successful candidate will lead the Crisis Team, to deliver a 7 day a week Mental Health Crisis service for a geographical area. As Team Lead and a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, the successful post holder will have both clinical and operational responsibilities.This service will operate 365 days a year over a 24-hour rotation providing cover day and night. As part of the role, staff will be expected to work shift patterns (not usually nights)Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the team adopts the policies and philosophy of LPT.
  • Promote independence, foster a learning culture, and enhance the autonomy of the service user, and ensuring high quality, compassionate, person-centred care.
  • Clinically, and professionally lead Crisis and Home Treatment Service and will provide supervision to the team members.
  • Through strong leadership, ensure evidence-based practice is delivered to improve the quality of and shape responsive services.
  • Responsible for ensuring that established clinical mechanisms support safe, high-quality care throughout the 24-hour period.
  • Clinically co-ordinate and lead a multi-agency staff team and ensure the provision and development of an effective service in line with legislative, procedural, and contractual requirements.

  • Full current UK Professional Registration (Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker) A relevant degree or diploma.
  • Demonstrates skills in using electronic records.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide good quality care Significant post registration experience as a Mental Health Practitioner or area of practice Experience of managing Junior Staff and/or Students.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision.
  • Experience of providing management supervision Experience of teaching/passing on skills in formal and informal environments.
