Job Description

A world leading manufacturer is looking for a Logistics and Procurement Assistant which will provide them an opportunity to develop as a professional in these key supply chain activities.Logistics and Procurement AssistantManchester£25,000 - £30,000 Depending on Experience + BenefitsOur client is one of the world leaders in the field of additives for the processing and manufacturing of polymers and is a speciality supplier of additives to the sealants, paints and coatings markets. The company has a reputation for high quality products and innovative new technologies serving customers all around the globe, from its manufacturing sites in the US, Europe and India.They currently have a vacancy spanning their Logistics and Procurement functions at their Eccles, Manchester Site. The role will provide an opportunity to develop as a professional in these key supply chain activities and more broadly in the operations of a speciality chemical manufacturer.About the RoleReporting to the Logistics Manager, the job holder will be responsible for ensuring all essential documentation is correct for outgoing and incoming goods, booking transport and monitoring haulier and supplier performance.The job holder will also work with other areas of the supply chain to ensure feedstock is arriving as required and will be responsible for the purchasing of a basket of incoming raw materials.Requirements - Education and Experience

  • GCSE level educated or higher (Essential)
  • Working toward, or willing to pursue, professional qualifications in purchasing, transport or related (Essential)
  • Sound communication and organisational skills (Essential)
  • Adaptable, self-motivated individual with the ability to work within an international environment using own initiative, and within a team (Essential)
  • Sound IT skills (Essential)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to balance competing priorities and manage own workload (Essential)
  • Previous experience working in a similar role (Desirable)
