Job Description

About the roleThe IT Project Manager (Network) is a new position within the Booker IT team, tasked with managing projects for the Workplace team, specifically focusing on Networks, to improve our customer experience and performance across the Booker Group.The role is accountable for delivering sponsored network and infrastructure projects to time, to budget and for managing internal team and external supplier resources effectively and efficiently and for ensuring support for these projects has been provisionedappropriately.Collaboration takes precedence, with the preferred candidate actively collaborating with colleagues from various business units. They will utilise an Agile methodology, emphasising cross-functional teamwork and continuous improvement.Prospective candidates should demonstrate expertise in developing and executing management plans and adeptly managing risks, issues, and changes across multiple workstreams. Maintaining open lines of communication with stakeholders, steering groups, andproject resources is crucial, as is ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.The successful candidate will embody a passion for driving change, excel in cultivating positive relationships with stakeholders, can prioritise and organise workloads to align with business needs and exhibit a keen eye for detail.Role Responsibility

  • Work proactively with stakeholders to improve processes and maximise system asset utilization.
  • Remain knowledgeable about technology trends and innovations.
  • Work promptly, jointly & proactively on projects to improve cash profit & customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in full to agreed budgets and timescales, and then reviewed.
  • Fully leverage our suppliers capacity and capability to undertake project and service take on activity.
  • Comply with all company policies, e.g. financial planning and control, health and safety.
  • Ensure disaster recovery provision is incorporated into project plans and proven, and that other risks are regularly reviewed and managed.
  • Work pro-actively to achieve clean internal, external and supplier audits where required.
  • Work with the procurement and legal teams to source suppliers of IS infrastructure, software, and development / support services.
  • Manage supplier contracts and licensing agreements to ensure we remain compliant with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Manage applications, technical and service architecture efficiently.
  • Find ways to achieve or beat budgeted costs and try to improve costs year-on-year.
  • Deliver new tools and techniques to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Deliver innovation through transformation and continual service improvement.
You will need
  • Good understanding of networking, ideally Cisco / Juniper experience.
  • Ideally, good knowledge of the wholesale industry and business processes.
  • Strong people management, with proven ability to effectively manage team collaboration.
  • Technical project management skills and successful delivery of change programs.
  • Service management skills with experience of introducing good long term support provision.
  • Building credible and long lasting relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Consistent delivery of results.
