Job Description

About the roleBooker Group have an exciting opportunity as an IS Senior Analyst - SAP Finance. The role of IS Senior Analyst - SAP Finance works within the IS team of Booker and is responsible for supporting and delivering effective, secure and efficient systems forthe Booker Group Finance teams. The role is responsible for the day-to-day support of Finance colleagues, taking ownership and ensuring resolution of problem tickets and providing knowledge and expertise to key stakeholders to support decision-making.Additionally, the role will help drive the successful delivery of our SAP system roadmap by managing the end-to-end life cycle of projects ranging in complexity and criticality. These projects will vary from supporting our ongoing departmental continuousimprovement programmes to delivering new functionality to support our Health / Safe / Legal, Customer Satisfaction and Cash Profit agenda.The role requires an individual who can manage priorities effectively between support and project work, ensuring existing SLAs are adhered to, and meeting project deliverables (such as timelines, budgets and stakeholder management). Some Out of Hourswork may be required on an ad-hoc basis.Role Responsibility

  • Complying with change management procedures and security systems as will as all company policies and contractual terms and conditions with suppliers
  • Ensuring system availability, costs and approved project status are reported accurately each period
  • Working with colleagues to manage suppliers of IT infrastructure, software and development/support services
  • Championing diversity and inclusion to ensure everyone feels welcome at Booker
  • Identifying issues that will or are impacting on systems stability, availability and functionality and working jointly and proactively to mitigate and resolve these issues
  • Working proactively with stakeholders to improve processes and maximise system asset utilisation whilst delivering on cash profit and customer satisfaction
  • Remaining up to date with technological trends and innovations
  • Delivering an effective application architecture and development roadmap to support the companys strategic plans
  • Ensuring you are always working to deliver projects in full to agreed budgets and timescales
  • Leveraging resources to maximise capacity and capability for minimum cost, striving to beat budget and improve costs year on year
You will need.
  • Proven Classic General Ledger data interrogation skills.
  • Proven ability to articulate complex business requirements by means of a functional systems specification.
  • Proven SAP FI/CO configuration and testing skills (ideally gained during an SAP ECC implementation and/or integration project).
  • Good understanding of Profit Centre / Cost Centre reporting structures (inc experience of Report Painter)
  • Fully or Part qualified in a professional accounting qualification.
  • Excellence in building positive relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Deliver continuous improvements.
  • Desire to learn / add value / drive progress.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and efficiently with colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • Experience of the various SAP Finance modules (AR, AP, GL, AA, CO)
  • Experience in managing change from conception and design to testing, delivery and ultimately support.
  • Project delivery experience developed through Finance focussed initiatives.
  • Commercially aware and keen to understand the wholesale business and how different functions interact.
  • Experience of various payment communication platforms such as BACS, SEPA, and AUDDIS.
  • Good people management, with proven ability to effectively work with other internal and external teams.
  • Service management skills with experience of successful support provision and project leading.
  • Consistent delivery of results.
