HNC - Supervisor - Manual Turning - Milling - Boring - Mig & TIG - ManchesterWe are looking for a HNC (or higher) qualified Manual (non-CNC) Machine shop Supervisor to manage a small team of engineers operating precision Turning, Milling and Borer machines for a highly respected electro-mechanical engineering business in Manchester.A HNC in Mechanical Engineering and up to date experience with manual machining techniques, MIG & TIG welding are essential, and you will have opportunities to furtherenhance your skill set with training in electro-mechanical services unique to this business.Balancing skills, IOSH or similar and an understanding of 5S would also be advantagous but not essentialHours of work are 8am - 4.30pm Mon- Fri, with overtime available when workload demands and 24-hour emergency standby call-out 1 weekend in 4 during busy periods.DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:• Supervising a small team of highly skilled mechanical engineering machinists• Small batch manufacture and repair of parts• Using manual lathes, drilling & boring machines (not CNC)• Working overtime subject to Company workload• Provide cover when on call (one week in four)• Training in new techniques / skill sets as required• TrainingThe company offer competitive hourly rates circa £16 - £16.90/hr leading to an OTE of £35,000-£40,000 pa depending on experience and overtime worked.
