Job Description

Join the Novitas Loans team where you will cover a broad spectrum of responsibilities within the finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance you will focus on the delivery of finance operations and production of month end reporting. You will maintaininga strong financial control environment and provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. RESPONSIBILITIESFinance Operations:

  • Approve loan payments, interest calculations and final statements;
  • Review weekly Accounts Payable files including account allocation and appropriate accounting treatment (e.g. prepayments/accruals);
  • Review daily bank reconciliations ensuring that all transactions are reflected in the system;
  • Assist with the annual audit process;
  • Continue to challenge and refine all processes, identifying areas for improvement to increase productivity and update as appropriate;
Reporting:
  • Produce month end figures, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment is used;
  • Reporting monthly, quarterly and annual results with review and analysis of key trends;
  • Review and investigate balance sheet account items;
  • Produce journals ensuring accuracy and maintain an audit trail;
  • Prepare and review month end schedules (e.g. loan book) using system MI;
  • Build a strong understanding of the lending system and support change/improvements to MI produced from the system;
  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to both internal and external parties including insurer reports, limit reports and variance to budget commentaries;
People:
  • Provide training to and manage the workloads of Financial Operations Assistants;
  • Mentor and develop Financial Operations Assistants, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing development opportunities.
Risk & Compliance:
  • Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:
  • Are part qualified (ideally a finalist) with ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Have a strong understanding and practical experience of operational finance
  • Posses strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Have managed (or at least supervised) a team before
  • Are proficient with Microsoft Excel (intermediate level)
  • Possess a mind-set which champions change and challenges existing processes.
  • Have exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Are self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and a hunger to develop your career
