Job Description

Summary Were looking for a Volunteering & Community Assistant to join our Volunteering & Community team across the Bath Portfolio. If you have a strong understanding of volunteering process and practices and enjoy supporting and updating systems, this will be agreat role for you!Youll join us starting on a two-year fixed term contract for two days/15 hours per week, with a flexible working pattern and the possibility of occasional evening and weekend work.If you have any questions about the role, please contact Volunteering and Community Manager, Hannah Kemp on.uk What its like to work here Reporting to the Volunteering & Community Manager, you will join the Volunteering and Community team to support volunteering at the National Trust Bath Portfolio properties, which includes Dyrham Park, Prior Park Landscape Garden, Bath Skyline, Bath AssemblyRooms and Bathampton Meadows.Youll be based in an office at Dyrham Park for 1-2 days per week.With a growing number and variety of volunteer teams as well as recently acquired properties and projects, its an exciting time to join us. The Volunteer and Community team is expanding to meet the needs of the Bath Portfolio, and we want to ensure positive,flexible, inclusive and safe experiences to everyone who volunteers with us. What youll be doing As our Volunteering & Community Assistant it will be your responsibility to support with volunteer recruitment, induction and development. You will measure and report volunteering impact, gather feedback and monitor action plans, and help the team to analyse,evaluate and improve our processes.You will work with property teams to celebrate the positive impact and potential of volunteering through assisting with volunteer social events, rewards and recognition. With support from the Volunteering and Community Officer, youll provide administrativesupport and help to manage effective volunteer communication.Working with the wider team, youll help us to deliver a long-term plan for volunteer participation and engagement across the Bath Portfolio. Who were looking for Were interested in someone who is well-organised, has good time management skills and is excellent at communicating in a variety of ways. If you enjoy using databases, tracking information, creating spreadsheets and finding ways to streamlineand improve processes then this will be ideal for you.

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Good IT skills, as youll be using Microsoft Office, our volunteer database (yourvolunteering) and video-conferencing software (Webex) predominantly
  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding of good practice in volunteer practices and processes
  • Enthusiastic about volunteering and promoting the benefits and opportunities of an inclusive approach
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
