Summary Dyrham Park is an architectural tour de force, striking awe in visitors who parade through the formal c17th gardens with cascade, parterres, terraces, courtyards and an orchard. As a busy property, Dyrham Park has a mansion with an internationally significantcollection, a historic deer park, veteran champion trees, enriching visitor activities and experiences.The historic gardens were designed by Garden Designer George London, famously known for Hampton Court Palace gardens and Chatsworth. Today they are a 17th century garden with a flair for the 21st century. What its like to work here Working along side 6 other gardeners, you will be part of the team delivering excellent horticulture. You will have the opportunity to bring your skills and experience to the team of staff and volunteers, but also be able to learn with specialists aboutheritage skills. It is an exciting time for Dyrham Park as we are delivering new projects such as Old Lodge caf, West Terrace Parterre, and a new visitor welcome.We are looking for an individual who will be based at Dyrham Park but would be willing to work across the Bath portfolio supporting the Head Gardener at Prior Park in Bath to reinstatement of the landscape post construction of the dams.Occasional weekend working is also required on a rota with other gardeners and rangers at the property. What youll be doing As a hands-on Gardener, youll assist in making sure that the gardens are maintained to a high standard. Youll be passionate and enthused and knowledgeable about the varied plants within the garden. This role will include a range of practical horticulturaltasks to develop, enhance and conserve the garden and contribute to the delivery of projects. Youll be helping with hard and soft landscaping and general maintenance of the garden, such as mulching, pruning, leaf clearing and weeding. Youll support withthe planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants. Youll be helping to cut the hedges and mow our fine lawns. Youll also take ownership of specific areas of the garden ensuring the highest standards are maintained and healthy plants are availablefor our visitors to enjoy.Youll also support garden volunteers and help them to make the most of their time here.
